From October 20th to 24th, our school participated in the 4th mobility of the Erasmus+ project “Young European The Crew”. This exciting week brought students and teachers from the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, and Italy together in Portugal for international collaboration (while Turkey participated in spirit, missing this meeting due to administrative reasons).
Our Italian delegation proudly featured 6 talented students chosen on merit from the Dining Room Service and Culinary Arts sections across the Palese and San Paolo campuses, accompanied by professors Del Vescovo and Nuzzo.
Key Themes & Activities
The program focused on three vital topics:
Sustainability
Biodiversity
Awareness and preservation of natural and cultural heritage
Following an engaging opening ceremony in the school auditorium and an official welcome by the local Mayor, our hosts at the Agrupamento de Escolas de Campo Maior guided the international group through their region. Highlights included exploring local olive groves, cork and coffee factories, regional wineries, scenic dams, and local museums.
Highlights and Outcomes
Despite some initial shyness, the week wrapped up with emotional farewells, hugs, and tears. Participants walked away with:
Greater self-awareness and a deeper appreciation for protecting our natural surroundings.
More fluency in English, which served as the natural, common language for all daily activities.
Looking Ahead
The “Young European The Crew” project still has two more mobilities scheduled in Poland and the Czech Republic before reaching its grand finale.
A message to all Majorana students: Study hard, follow the rules, and give your best during school events, and you too could be selected as a participant in future mobilities. Ad Maiora!
