Save water: alarm rings for all of us.
The name of the projects displays the main features of this KA220-SCH-705199D0 Erasmus which has been involving 6 countries since 2022.
Between 11-15 March, Italian, Portuguese, Serbian, Turkish and Bulgarian partners gathered on Chios Island hosted by the Greek partners. There they could share activities and confront on a challenging issue: coping with water’s lack and saving methods.
The first day, after a brief meeting with local authorities, was dedicated to appreciate Chios’ history and cultural heritage: the Byzantine Museum, the Korai’s Library and its Castle. Each place was a perfect location for lectures and guides about watering systems and water resources.
On the second day, all the group could enjoy a welcome ceremony at the school in Kardamyla village. Biodiversity and the importance of water for living things inspired a creative drama and a funny escape room learning activity together with the students
The week continued with daily excursions at medieval villages in the northern part of the island where desalination systems have a long tradition.
Finally, the visit at the mastic museum was the perfect occasion to better understand Chios economy and to get some original souvenirs.
Of course, there was time to enjoy delicious dinners, to dance some Greek music and to plan future meeting: next stop, Turkey!
