Within theErasmus+ project “Step by Step”, 8 teachers and staff members among the school IP majorana… took part to a week-long training held in Nice, France at the Teacher Academy Europass between 15-20 May 2023.
The training focussed on how creative and innovation can be integrated into teaching practices.
Language of the training was English and participants came from various European countries.
Lessons were well balanced in presenting both theories on collaborative learning, such as Gardener’s
Multiple Intelligences, and effective strategies to be used while teaching.
Activities stressed the importance of creating a trusting and non-judgemental class environment where each learning style feels safe to express, soft skills are appreciated and assessment is authentic, according to student centred approaches.
Creativity was fostered through tasks based on the 5-step design thinking model, aiming at improving how to make thinking visible and promoting deep thinking.
As innovation tools play a great part in teaching methodology, latest apps to edit video, to create mind maps and design ebooks were part of the training, in order to realize their positive impact on the learning process, if used with awareness and competence.
Considering lifelong learning a basis for quality education, this workshop has deeply helped to improve the methodological skills of the participants who were happy to share them at school with dissemination activities and on job training.
In addition, each mobility experience includes a far greater value: meeting people with different culture, language and habits is the best way to enrich self- intercultural awareness and practice good citizenship.
